FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS - SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

The Nine Lessons and Carols are sung every Christmas Eve at King's College Chapel, Cambridge England and broadcast worldwide, (most public radio and television stations carry it). It is not to be missed. The service honors King Henry VI who founded their college in 1441 and specifically built the chapel to encourage this kind of sacred choral singing. The carols are sung by one of the world's finest choirs of men and boys and are interspersed with short bible readings by the faculty.

The beginning carol is always the same and begins very quietly as the choir procession enters from the back of the church so leave your volume in normal position. This service has been recorded many times since 1950 and there is also a current EMI recording available. Another EMI recording below by Kings College Choir contains carols without recitatives.
